Technical SEO (do first)

  • ☐ Title tag on every page (50–60 chars, includes target keyword)
  • ☐ Meta description on every page (150–160 chars)
  • ☐ One H1 per page with primary keyword
  • ☐ Canonical URL set (no www/non-www split)
  • ☐ sitemap.xml submitted to Google Search Console
  • ☐ robots.txt allows crawling
  • ☐ Mobile-friendly (responsive design)
  • ☐ Page load under 3 seconds
  • ☐ HTTPS enabled
  • ☐ FAQ schema on key pages
  • ☐ Organization schema with name, URL, logo
  • ☐ llms.txt file at site root

Keyword & content SEO

  • ☐ 3 target keywords identified (what customers actually search)
  • ☐ Dedicated landing page per keyword (not just homepage)
  • ☐ Keyword in title, H1, URL, first paragraph
  • ☐ 1,500+ words per landing page with H2 sections
  • ☐ Internal links between related pages
  • ☐ One comparison page vs main competitor
  • ☐ Blog posts targeting searchable questions (not company news)

Off-page & authority

  • ☐ Google Search Console verified
  • ☐ Google Business Profile (if local)
  • ☐ Listed on Product Hunt, G2, Capterra
  • ☐ Listed on 3+ industry directories
  • ☐ At least 5 external sites linking to you

AI visibility (after Google basics)

  • ☐ Checked AI Answer Gap (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity)
  • ☐ Answer-first content on homepage
  • ☐ FAQ schema implemented
  • ☐ llms.txt deployed
